Hi, I'm Justine

American by Birth. Australian by choice. Fuelled by coffee, spreadsheets and just enough chaos to keep my neuro-spicy brain calm.

The reason I started Forget Me Knot Films

Believe it or not, I didn’t grow up dreaming of being a wedding videographer.

I was a chef, working long hours and wondering if this was really what I wanted to do forever. One day, my best friend asked me a simple question:

“If you could do anything else, what would it be?”

I didn’t have an answer straight away. I just knew I didn’t want to go back to university to learn a new trade, and I couldn’t imagine doing a job that had me sitting behind a desk all day.

Then I remembered the videographer at my own wedding and thinking, “That would be such a cool job.” To spend your weekends filming one of the happiest days of people’s lives? What an incredible privilege.

The more I thought about it, the more I realised something. Throughout my life, it was never the photos I found myself going back to most. It was the videos.

Hearing voices. Belly laughs. Watching people move, hug, dance, and simply be themselves. Seeing how people changed over the years. Reliving moments I’d completely forgotten.

Video has a way of transporting you back that nothing else can.

So I offered to film a friend’s wedding for free, built my very first website from that film, and somehow… this little business was born.

I don’t just make wedding films.

I preserve voices. Personalities. Belly laughs. Happy tears. The moments people don’t realise they’ll miss until years later. Then I weave them together with music to create something that doesn’t just show you what happened—it makes you feel it all over again.

When couples tell me they laughed, cried, and felt like they were right back in that moment while watching their film… that’s when I know I’ve done my job.

And honestly?

I can’t imagine doing anything else more fulfilling.

Some fun facts about me

  • I own an embarrassing number of spreadsheets… and I genuinely enjoy making them.
  • I have approximately 17 tabs open in my brain and computer at any given moment.
  • I have the memory of a goldfish… unless it’s lyrics to a Taylor Swift song that no-one has asked me sing.
  • I can remember your dog’s name instantly, but there’s a solid chance I’ll blank on your surname.
  • If I tell you I’ll “just quickly” do something… I’ve probably underestimated by at least an hour.
  • I have been known to hyperfocus on choosing the perfect song for a film. Sometimes for days. (Worth it every time.)
  • If there’s a horse nearby, please assume I’ve already spotted it.
  • I still say “y’all.” Australia has tried to stop me. Australia has failed.
  • I quote How I Met Your Mother or Gilmore Girls far more than any grown woman should.
  • Coffee isn’t a personality trait… but it’s getting dangerously close.
  • If your grandparents are at your wedding, there’s a very good chance I’ll adopt them by the end of the night.
  • I tear up at emotional wedding vows. Every. Single. Time. Even when I’m trying really hard not to.
  • My booty can’t not shake when ‘Uptown Funk’ comes on. Don’t judge me.
  • I’m convinced sunsets make everything look 67% more romantic. (The maths feels right.)

What it's like to have me at your wedding

I know being filmed can feel a little intimidating. For most couples, it’s not something they’ve ever done before.

That’s why my goal isn’t to show up as another vendor. It’s to create an experience where you feel comfortable enough to completely be yourselves.

I’ll calm nerves, fluff dresses, keep things running smoothly, and very politely deal with Nan’s iPad when required.

But more than anything, I’m paying attention to the moments people don’t realise are happening.

Part storyteller
Part problem solver
Part hype girl

All in on making sure you have an incredible day.

We couldn't have asked for a better videographer
An absolute angel, from our first chat to our chats after. We couldn't have asked for a better videographer who eased it all. An legend, a hoot and damn good quality human. We were the luckiest to have Justine. We adore you and I could go one forever about how great Justine and the whole vendor team we had were. Do yourselves a favour, hire her.

Real laughter. Authentic emotion. Candid love.

These aren't just words on a page. They're what I'm actively looking for on every single wedding day.

Real laughter

Not the "ok everyone smile at the camera" kind. The big, unfiltered laughs. The inside jokes. The moments that don't go to plan and you just have to laugh it off. Those are the moments that always end up being your favourite.

Authentic emotion

The deep breath before you walk down the aisle. Your partner trying (and failing) to hold it together. Your parents quietly taking it all in. It’s not staged or forced — it’s just letting people feel what they feel, and capturing it as it happens.

Candid love

The in-between magic. The little looks. The hand squeezes. The forehead touches. The way you reach for each other without even thinking about it. It’s not about posing or performing — it’s about capturing connection as it naturally shows up.
